Test E: The Headlamps Are On Continuously
PINPOINT TEST E: THE HEADLAMPS ARE ON CONTINUOUSLYE1-E5:
E6-E10:
Normal Operation
When the headlamp switch is placed in the HEADLAMPS ON position, the headlamp switch routes voltage to the multifunction switch through circuit CLS24 (BN/WH).
When the multifunction switch is in the LOW BEAM position, the multifunction switch routes voltage to the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit CLF18 (BU/WH). The SJB then routes the voltage to the LH and RH low beams through circuits CBP04 (VT) and CBP03 (GY), respectively.
When the multifunction switch is in the HIGH BEAM position, the multifunction switch routes voltage to the SJB through circuit CLF27 (GN/BN). The SJB then routes the voltage to the high beams through circuit CBP14 (VT/OG) and to the instrument cluster through circuit SBR14 (BN/RD).
Possible Causes
- Circuit CBP03 (GY) short to voltage
- Circuit CBP04 (VT) short to voltage
- Circuit CBP14 (VT/OG) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF18 (BU/WH) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF27 (GN/BN) short to voltage
- Circuit CLS24 (BN/WH) short to voltage
- Circuit SBR14 (BN/RD) short to voltage
- Headlamp switch
- Multifunction switch
- SJB
