Pinpoint Test L: DTCs C1187, C1188, C1189, C1327 and C1523 - Brake Fluid Level Sensor Fault
Refer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation
The brake fluid level sensor is normally open, when the brake fluid is below a predetermined level, the switch closes and completes a circuit. The ABS module continuously monitors the brake fluid level. When the module senses a low fluid level condition, it sends a message to the instrument cluster to illuminate the red brake warning indicator and sets DTC C1327.

The ABS module provides a reference voltage to the brake fluid level switch along circuit LCA16 (GN), the voltage goes through the switch and back into the ABS module along circuit RCA16 (BU/BN).
