Test T: The Overdrive (O/D) Off Indicator Is Never/Always On

PINPOINT TEST T: THE OVERDRIVE (O/D) OFF INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster (IC) receives the overdrive (O/D) off signal from the transmission control module (TCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The O/D off switch is hardwired to the TCM. When the transmission O/D is selected off, the O/D off switch provides a ground signal to the TCM. The TCM upon receipt of the O/D off ground signal, provides an O/D off message to the instrument cluster (IC) and the instrument cluster (IC) illuminates the O/D off indicator. If the O/D off message is missing or invalid for greater than 5 seconds, the instrument cluster (IC) sets DTC U0101 and defaults the O/D off indicator off.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- TCM
- Instrument cluster (IC)
