Test L: The Speed Sensitive Volume Is Inoperative/Does Not Operate Correctly

PINPOINT TEST L: THE SPEED SENSITIVE VOLUME IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

Normal Operation
The audio control module (ACM) receives a dedicated vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal from the PCM through circuit 679 (GY/BK). Depending on the customer-selected setting, the ACM adjusts the amount of volume gain based on vehicle speed.

- DTC C1992 (Vehicle Speed Circuit Failure) - sets when an open, short to ground, or short to voltage is detected on the VSS circuit 679 (GY/BK) from the PCM.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Speed sensitive volume setting
- ACM
- PCM
