Pinpoint Test B: DTC B1318
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 131, Parking Aid for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
- DTC B1318 (Battery Voltage Low) - set by the parking aid module ( PAM) as a continuous or on demand DTC when the supply voltage drops below 8 volts for 3 or more seconds during normal operation.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Charging system concern
PINPOINT TEST B: DTC B1318
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
NOTE: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings. Refer to Battery.
-------------------------------------------------
B1 CHECK THE PAM VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: PAM C4226.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the PAM C4226-18, circuit CBP35 (YE/GY), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to B2.
No
REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
-------------------------------------------------
B2 CHECK THE PAM GROUND CIRCUIT
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable.
- Measure the resistance between the PAM C4226-6, circuit GD133 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REFER to Charging System to diagnose the low battery voltage concern.
No
REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
