Exhaust Manifold - RH
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.
2. Remove the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to Emission Control Systems.
3. Remove the 4 exhaust manifold-to-dual converter Y-pipe nuts and position the dual converter Y-pipe aside.
- Discard the nuts.
4. Remove the 6 nuts, the RH exhaust manifold and the gasket.
- Discard the nuts and the gasket.
5. Remove and discard the 6 RH exhaust manifold studs.
Installation
1. Inspect the RH exhaust manifold gasket surfaces for flatness. For additional information, refer to Engine.
2. Install 6 new RH exhaust manifold studs.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
3. Position a new gasket, the RH exhaust manifold and install 6 new nuts.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
4. Position the dual converter Y-pipe and install 4 new nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
5. Install the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to Emission Control Systems.
