Pinpoint Test H: DTC U0155
Normal Operation
The Parking Aid Module (PAM) receives the transmission selector (PRNDL) state from the Instrument Cluster (IC) as a gateway message from the PCM.
- DTC U0155 (Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IC)) Control Module - a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the PAM when PRNDL messages are not received from the IC.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- IC
- Networked data fault

H1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
Yes
GO to H2.
No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

H2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Network Test.
- Carry out the network test.
- Does the IC pass the network test?
Yes
GO to H3.
No
REFER to Information Bus.

H3 RECHECK THE PAM DTCs
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the PMI may not have been carried out.
- Clear the DTCs. Repeat the PAM self-test.
- Is DTC U0155 still present?
Yes
GO to H4.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic.

H4 CHECK FOR DTC U0155 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self-Test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
- Is DTC U0155 set in any module?
Yes
INSTALL a new IC. REFER to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to Parking Aid Module (PAM) Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
