Pinpoint Test AA: The Low Fuel Message Center Indicator Is Never/Always On (If Equipped)
Normal Operation
Without MyKey(TM) enabled, the low fuel message center indicator illuminates when the Distance To Empty (DTE) reaches 80 km (50 miles) or less. With MyKey(TM) enabled, the low fuel message center indicator illuminates when the DTE calculation reaches 121 km (75 miles) or less. The DTE is internally by the Instrument Cluster (IC) from data received from the PCM and fuel gauge. When the IC receives the data, the fuel gauge indicates low fuel and the IC turns on the low fuel message center indicator.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- IC
- Message center concern

NOTE: This test must be diagnosed with an administrator key.
- Access the informational display or message center display and observe the DTE displayed mileage.
- Does the DTE display indicate 80 km (50 miles) (with an administrator key) 121 km (75 miles) (with a MyKey(TM) key) or less until empty?
Yes
INSTALL a new IC. REFER to Instrument Cluster (IC) Instrument Cluster (IC). TEST the system for normal operation.
