Cowl Panel Grille
Removal and Installation
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the left cowl grille panel before removing the right cowl grille panel.
1. Remove the wiper pivot arms. For additional information, refer to Wipers and Washers Wiper Pivot Arm.
2. Open the hood.
3. Remove the left cowl panel grille pushpin retainer.
4. Release the front edge of the left cowl grille panel.
- Starting at the center of the vehicle, depress the forward tab and press upward on the front edge of the cowl grille panel to release it from the cowl.
- Continuing out from the center of the vehicle, depress the remaining forward tabs and release the rest of the front edge of the cowl grille panel from the cowl.
5. NOTE: Attaching clips will remain connected to the cowl sheet metal.
Pull up on the rear LH edge of the cowl grille panel and disengage the 2 rear attaching clips from the cowl grille panel.
6. NOTE: The attaching clips will need to be removed from the cowl sheet metal and inspected. Replace any damaged clips.
Remove the attaching clips by rotating the clips one-fourth of a turn to release them from the cowl sheet metal. Inspect and replace any damaged clips and reinstall the clips onto the cowl grille panel.
7. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
8. Remove the left cowl grille panel.
9. Remove the right cowl panel grille pushpin retainer.
10. Release the front edge of the right cowl grille panel.
- Starting at the center of the vehicle, depress the forward tab and press upward on the front edge of the cowl grille panel to release it from the cowl.
- Continuing out from the center of the vehicle, depress the remaining forward tabs and release the rest of the front edge of the cowl grille panel from the cowl.
11. NOTE: Attaching clips will remain connected to the cowl sheet metal.
Pull up on the rear RH edge of the cowl grille panel and disengage the 2 rear attaching clips from the cowl grille panel.
12. NOTE: The attaching clips will need to be removed from the cowl sheet metal and inspected. Replace any damaged clips.
Remove the attaching clips by rotating the clips one-fourth of a turn to release them from the cowl sheet metal. Inspect and replace any damaged clips and reinstall the clips onto the cowl grille panel.
13. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
14. Remove the right cowl grille panel.
15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
