Removal

Seat backrest removal

1. Release the 2 backrest latches.
- Locate the 2 access holes in the backrest frame aligned with the inboard edge of the child safety seat anchors and insert a suitable tool through the access holes.
- Be careful not to damage the seat trim covers.

- Push in and release the 2 backrest latches.
- Push the backrest down slightly to allow the latches to release, then raise the backrest away from the latch.





2. Raise the backrest and release the upper clips.

3. Route the backrest through the center safety belt webbing and remove.

4. With the backrest removed, remove the 4 rear seat nuts.
- Position the rear center safety belt anchor aside.

- Remove the safety belt buckle.

5. Remove the spare tire jack to access the front seat bolts.

6. Remove the 3 front seat bolts and seat cushion.

Installation

NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

Seat cushion installation

1. Position the seat cushion in the vehicle.

2. Install the 3 front seat bolts.
- Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

3. Install the rear center safety belt anchor, safety belt buckle and 4 rear seat nuts.
- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

- Route the safety belt buckle through the elastic strap.

4. Install the spare tire jack.

5. Route the backrest through the center safety belt webbing and position in the vehicle.

NOTE: Cab back panel not shown for clarity.

6. Install the backrest.

1. Align the backrest frame guide to the cushion frame.

2. Align the 3 upper clips to the rear cab sheet metal.

3. Press down on the backrest until the 2 backrest latches engage.
- Make sure all 3 upper clips are engaged and both backrest latches are locked.
