Battery Cable: Service and Repair




Battery Cables - 6.2L









Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery Disconnect Battery Disconnect.

2. Remove the battery cable chassis ground terminal bolt and position the cable aside.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

3. Remove the battery cable body ground terminal bolt and position the cable aside.
- To install, tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).

4. Remove the bolt and position the battery cable harness bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

5. Remove the stud bolt and position the battery cable shield aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

6. Remove the battery cable engine ground terminal nut and position the cable aside.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

7. Remove the nut and position the starter solenoid wire terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

8. Remove the nut and position the starter solenoid positive cable terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

9. Remove the nut and position the generator B+ cable terminal and the Power Distribution Box (PDB) cable terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

10. Disconnect the battery cable in-line electrical connector.

11. Remove the battery cable assembly.

12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
