Parking Brake Shoes
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the brake disc. For additional information, refer to Rear Disc Brake Rear Disc Brake.
2. Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release Procedures.
3. Release the parking brake cable from the parking brake bracket assembly.
4. Rotate the parking brake cable 90 degrees to release it from the parking brake actuating lever.
5. Remove the 2 brake shoe hold-down clips and the 2 brake shoe retaining pins.
6. Remove the brake shoe adjusting screw and the lower brake shoe retaining spring.
7. Remove the brake shoes and the upper brake shoe retaining spring.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect the components for excessive wear or damage and install new as required.
