Transmission Fluid Cooler
Transmission Fluid Cooler-Water-to-Oil, Diesel
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. Drain the diesel powertrain secondary cooling system. For additional information, refer to Engine Cooling - 6.7L Diesel Powertrain Secondary Cooling Powertrain Secondary Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding
3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.
4. NOTE: The transmission fluid cooler outlet tube is shown the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube is similar.
Using the Transmission Cooler Line Disconnect Tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly.
5. Detach wiring harness pin-type retainer.
6. NOTE: The transmission fluid cooler outlet hose is shown the transmission fluid cooler inlet hose is similar.
Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses.
7. Remove the 3 bolts and the transmission fluid cooler.
Installation
1. Install the transmission fluid cooler and the 3 bolts.
- Tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).
2. NOTE: Transmission fluid cooler inlet hose shown outlet hose similar.
Connect the transmission fluid cooler hoses.
3. Attach wiring harness pin-type retainer.
4. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly.
5. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.
6. NOTICE: Evaluate the cooling system condition before filling the secondary cooling system. Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the engine.

7. Fill and bleed the diesel powertrain secondary cooling system. For additional information, refer to Engine Cooling - 6.7L Diesel Powertrain Secondary Cooling Powertrain Secondary Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding
8. Top off with transmission fluid and check for leaks.
