Thermostat - High Temperature













Removal and Installation

1. Drain the powertrain secondary cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Powertrain Secondary Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. Remove the grille. for additional information, refer to Exterior Trim and Ornamentation Radiator Grille.

3. Detach the RH air deflector pushpin from the high temperature thermostat cover.





4. Remove the 2 bolts, the high temperature thermostat cover and the high temperature thermostat.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in)

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new high temperature thermostat O-ring seal and lubricate it with clean engine coolant.

6. NOTICE: Evaluate the cooling system condition before filling the cooling system. Failure to follow these instructions can damage the engine or cooling system.
