Throttle Body - Spacer
Removal
WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
1. Remove the Throttle Body (TB). For additional information, refer to Throttle Body Throttle Body.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose and the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) hose quick connect coupling from the TB (Throttle Body) spacer.
3. Disconnect the PCV tube from the TB (Throttle Body) spacer heater element.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the TB (Throttle Body) spacer.
5. Remove the 2 PCV heater element screws.
6. Remove the PCV heater element.
7. Inspect the O-ring seal and discard if damaged.
8. Remove the 3 bolts, the stud bolt and the TB (Throttle Body) spacer.
- Remove and discard the TB (Throttle Body) spacer gasket.
Installation
1. Install a new TB (Throttle Body) spacer gasket. Install the TB (Throttle Body) spacer and the 4 fasteners. Tighten the studbolt and the 3 bolts in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
2. Install the PCV heater element.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
3. Install the 2 PCV heater element screws.
4. Connect the vacuum hose to the TB (Throttle Body) spacer.
5. Connect the PCV tube to the TB (Throttle Body) spacer heater element.
6. Connect the vacuum hose and the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) hose quick connect coupling to the TB (Throttle Body) spacer.
7. Install the TB (Throttle Body). For additional information, refer to Throttle Body Throttle Body.
