Diagnostic Overview

The Ambient Lighting Does Not Cycle Through All Color Combinations

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 89 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Ambient Lighting .

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the climate control system operation and make sure it operates correctly.

- Inspect the touchscreen and make sure it operates correctly.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE AMBIENT LIGHTING HARNESS

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Module C228C.

3. Diode check:





Does the meter indicate the circuit is good?








2. CHECK FOR CORRECT HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) MODULE OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect all HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) module connectors.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) module connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
