G4 - Check Throttle Body

- Check throttle linkage and/or speed control linkage for binding.

- Inspect throttle body for contamination. To determine if Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid can be cleaned refer to Computers and Control Systems/IAC/Description and Operation.

- Check engine vacuum hoses.

- Check for leaks around IAC solenoid mounting gasket.

- Check for air leaks between IAC solenoid and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.

- Are all of the above checks OK?

Yes -- Go to G5. G5 - Check MAP/BARO Sensor Output

No -- Service as necessary. Remove breakout box. Reconnect PCM. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
