HC9 - Check Regulator For High Pressure Cause
- Key Off.
- Scan Tool connected.
- Remove fuel return line at the fuel rail and connect a short hose from rail to a measured container of at least one quart capacity.
- Key On, Engine Off.
- Enter OSM mode and run the fuel pump.
- Record fuel pressure and note whether fuel is being returned to the measured container.
- Exit OSM mode to shut off the fuel pump, key off.
- Is fuel pressure between 35 and 40 psi (240-280 kPa) and is fuel returning to the container?
YES -- GO to HC10. HC10 - Check Fuel Return System
NO -- REPLACE fuel pressure regulator. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
