Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Special Tool(s)

Removal
1. Remove the transmission/transaxle.





2. Install the (1) Flywheel Holding Tool and remove the (2) bolts.
3. Remove the flexplate.
^ Inspect the flexplate for cracks, or other damage. Install a new flexplate if necessary.

Installation





1. NOTE: Apply Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G315-A5 to flexplate bolts before installation.

Position the flexplate onto the crankshaft and install the bolts.
2. Tighten the bolts in sequence to specification.
3. Install the transmission/transaxle.
