Cylinder HeadThe cylinder heads must not have depressions deeper than 0.0254 mm (0.001 inch) across a 38.1-mm (1.5-inch) square area, or scratches longer than 0.0254 mm (0.001 inch).
Cylinder block head gasket surface flatness 0.08 mm (0.003 inch) in 152.0 mm (6.00 inch)
Cylinder Head Bolts
New cylinder head bolts must be installed. They are torque-to-yield designed and cannot be reused.
First pass 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs).
Second pass Loosen bolts one full turn
Third pass 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs).
Fourth pass Rotate additional 90°
Final pass Rotate additional 90°
Upper intake manifold bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs).
Lower intake manifold bolts
First pass 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs).
Final pass 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs).
Exhaust Manifold Bolts
New exhaust manifold gaskets, studs, nuts and/or bolts must be installed when an exhaust manifold is serviced.
First pass 10 Nm (89 inch lbs).
Final pass 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs).
