Test D: The Generator Is Noisy
PINPOINT TEST D: THE GENERATOR IS NOISYNormal Operation The generator is belt-driven by the engine accessory drive system. Generator noise can originate from faulty bearings or electrical problems in the diodes or stator.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following: -
Accessory drive belt

Loose bolts/brackets

Generator/pulley
