Water Pump: Service and Repair

Coolant Pump Mounting:






REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Remove negative battery cable.
3. Drain coolant, partially.
4. Remove serpentine belt.
5. Remove pulley.
6. Remove coolant pump attaching bolts and coolant pump.
7. Clean coolant pump mating surfaces.


INSTALLATION
1. Install gasket and coolant pump.
2. Install attaching bolts and torque to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.)
3. Install coolant pump pulley.
4. Install serpentine belt.
5. Refill coolant. Refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair
6. Install negative battery cable and torque bolts to 15 Nm ( 11 ft.lb. ). Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction / Service and Repair / Idle Learn Procedure. Service and Repair
7. Install air cleaner assembly.
8. Inspect for leaks.
