PCV Valve Hose: Service and Repair



Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine covers. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. Detach and reposition the noise insulation panel (3) from the engine cover ball studs on the intake manifold assembly (1).
3. Disconnect the PCV tube (2) from both sides of the upper intake manifold assembly (1).




4. Disconnect the PCV tube (1) from the right camshaft cover (3).

Important: Install a rubber cap or plug to the right hand camshaft cover (3) to prevent dust and dirt entry.


5. Plug the right hand camshaft cover (3).
6. Remove the PCV tube (1) from the intake manifold assembly (2).




7. Disconnect the PCV tube (1) from the left hand camshaft cover (2).

Important: Install a rubber cap or plug to the left hand camshaft cover (2) to prevent dust and dirt entry.


8. Plug the left hand camshaft cover (2).




9. Disconnect the PCV tube (1) from the air intake assembly (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the PCV tube (1) to the air intake assembly (2).




2. Remove the plug from the left hand camshaft cover (2).
3. Connect the PCV tube (1) to the left hand camshaft cover (2).




4. Install the PCV tube (1) to the intake manifold assembly (2).
5. Remove the plug from the right hand camshaft cover (3).
6. Connect the PCV tube (1) to the right camshaft cover (3).




7. Connect the PCV tube (3) from both sides of the upper intake manifold assembly (2).
8. Attach the noise insulation panel (1) to the engine cover ball studs on the intake manifold assembly (2).
9. Install the engine covers. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
