Hood: Service and Repair




Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Open and support the hood.
2. Install a protective covering over the fenders.
3. Remove the hood insulator, if equipped. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
5. With an assistant, remove the hood hinge to hood bolts.
6. With an assistant, remove the hood.

Installation Procedure




1. With an assistant, position the hood to the hinges.
2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the bolts that secure the hinge to the hood.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the hood insulator, if equipped. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Adjust the hood. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments).
6. Remove the protective covering from the fenders.
7. Remove the support and close the hood.
