Liftgate Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Disconnect the latch cable (1).




3. Disconnect the rod (1).




4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
5. Disengage the two clamps (1).




6. Remove the three bolts (1).
7. Remove the liftgate latch assembly (2) from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the liftgate latch (2) to the liftgate.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

2. Install the bolts (1) to the liftgate latch (2) and tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb ft).




3. Engage the two clamps (1).
4. Connect the electrical connector (2).




5. Connect the rod (1).




6. Connect the latch cable (1).
7. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
