Fuel Pulse Dampener Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Discharge fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Fuel Pressure Relief).
2. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
3. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove air cleaner cap with hose.
5. Disconnect fuel main tube.
6. Remove the 2 bolts (1,2) and fuel pressure pulsation damper.
7. Remove the O-ring from the fuel pressure pulsation damper.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to a new O-ring (1) and install it to the fuel pressure pulsation damper.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the fuel pressure pulsation damper with the 2 bolts (1,2).

9.0 Nm (80 lb in)

3. Install fuel main tube.
4. Install air cleaner cap with hose.
5. Install engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
7. Inspect for fuel leaks.
