Component Tests and General Diagnostics

REMOTE AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION

1. Remove driver air bag (inflator) module.
2. Disconnect remote audio control switch connector from contact coil.




3. Check switch (1) for resistance between "a" and "b" terminals under each condition below.
If check result is not satisfactory, replace remote audio control switch.

Remote audio control switch resistance
All switches released (OFF): 95 - 105 kOhms
"MUTE" switch pushing on (ON): 313 - 347 Ohms
"+" switch pushing on (ON): 950 - 1050 Ohms
"-" switch pushing on (ON): 2954 - 3266 Ohms
"MODE" switch pushing on (ON): 5301 - 5859 Ohms
"<" switch pushing on (ON): 8487 - 9381 Ohms
">" switch pushing on (ON): 14497 - 16024 Ohms
