Rear Brake Disc Removal and Installation

NOTE:

Failure to take proper precautions during brake disc removal may cause damage to the brake flexible hose and/or the brake piston.

- Be careful not to damage the brake flexible hose during brake disc removal.
- Avoid depressing the brake pedal during the brake disc removal procedure to prevent the brake piston from being forced out of the cylinder.

Removal

1) Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.
2) Remove brake caliper assembly referring to Rear Brakes Rear Disc Brake Caliper Removal and Installation:Disc.

NOTE:
If the removed brake caliper is left hung by the brake hose, the brake hose may be damaged due to the tension caused by the caliper's weight.

Hang a removed brake caliper with a wire hook or the like to relieve the brake hose of the tension.

3) Pull brake disc off by using M8 bolts (1) (2 pcs).






Installation

Rear Brake Disc Inspection:Disc

Install in reverse order of removal nothing the following.

- Tighten caliper carrier bolts to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Caliper carrier bolt (a): 60 Nm (6.0 kgf-m, 43.5 lbf-ft)





- Install rear wheel referring to Removal and Replacement Wheel (with Tire) Removal and Installation.
- Upon completion of installation, perform brake test.
