2UZ-FE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
- After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and setting. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal
- Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) For the front wiper motor and link, refer to the following procedures Removal.
4. REMOVE FRONT COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 2 washer hoses.
(b) Remove the 7 bolts and outer panel.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement
6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
7. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 cap nuts and throttle body cover.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 throttle body cover brackets from the intake manifold.
8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose and No. 2 ventilation hose.
(b) Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
(c) Remove the air cleaner hose.
9. REMOVE VACUUM HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the vacuum hose assembly.
10. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

(a) Disconnect the 2 water hoses from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts.
(c) Remove No. 2 water by-pass pipe together with the water hose.
11. DISCONNECT FUEL RETURN TUBE Removal
12. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE Removal
13. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body.

(d) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.
(e) Disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.

(f) Disconnect the VSV connector.

(g) Disconnect the 2 wire clamps from the wire bracket and engine hanger.
(h) Remove the bolt and wire bracket from the intake manifold.

(i) Disconnect the 2 wire clamps from the wire clamp bracket on the RH delivery pipe.
(j) Disconnect the 8 injector connectors.

(k) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the engine wire protector.

(l) Remove the 6 bolts, 4 nuts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.
14. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the nut, 3 bolts, throttle body and gasket.
15. REMOVE NO. 1 VENTILATION HOSE
16. REMOVE PURGE VSV

(a) Disconnect the purge line hose from the intake manifold.
(b) Remove the bolt and purge VSV.
17. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS) Removal
18. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
