2AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ECM

(a) Install the 2 brackets to the ECM with the 4 screws.





(b) Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.





NOTICE:
* When connecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter is not stuck between the connector and ECM.
* Make sure that the 2 levers are securely lowered.
(c) Install the ECM with bracket with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 6.5 Nm (66 kgf-cm, 58 in-lbf)

2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE

(a) Install the air cleaner case with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

(b) Connect the harness clamp.

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the air cleaner filter element to the air cleaner case.

(b) Align the protrusion on the end of the air cleaner hose with the edge of the throttle body and connect the hose. Then, release the lock of the air cleaner hose clamp to secure the clamp.





(c) Insert the hinge part of the air cleaner cap into the air cleaner case, then attach the 2 hook clamps.





(d) Connect the purge line hose to the clamp.





(e) Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the air cleaner hose.

(f) Connect the 2 purge line hoses to the purge VSV.





(g) Connect the 4 wire harness clamps.

(h) Connect the purge VSV connector.

(i) Connect the mass air flow meter connector.

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

5. PERFORM REGISTRATION

(a) When replacing the ECM, input the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the new ECM Programming and Relearning.

(b) When replacing the ECM, perform the vehicle stability control system recognition in the new ECM Programming and Relearning.

6. RESET MEMORY

(a) When replacing the ECM, perform the RESET MEMORY procedure (A/T initialization).

(1) Check the vehicle type.
