Removal





INTERIOR: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 10 claws and remove the scuff plate.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

(a) Remove the cap nut.





(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the trim board.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

13. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System) Removal

14. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) Removal

15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY CENTER Removal

16. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) w/o Curtain Shield Airbag:





(1) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips.

(2) Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 3 guides. Then remove the front pillar garnish.

(b) w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:





(1) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.

HINT
Make the front pillar garnish hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.





(2) Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish.

NOTICE:
* Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.

HINT
Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.

(3) Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.

(c) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 wire harness clamps.





(d) w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:





(1) Completely cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) piece of cloth or nylon, and secure the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

18. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

(a) w/o Curtain Shield Airbag:





(1) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips.

(2) Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 3 guides. Then remove the front pillar garnish.

(b) w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:





(1) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.

HINT
Make the front pillar garnish hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.





(2) Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish.

NOTICE:
* Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.

HINT
Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.

(3) Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.





(c) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 antenna cord clamps.

(d) w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:

(1) Completely cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) piece of cloth or nylon, and secure the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 9 claws.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the scuff plate.

21. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

22. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

24. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

(1) Remove the anchor cover.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.





(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the garnish.

25. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

(a) Remove the package tray trim pocket.

(2) Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the plate.

(1) Using a clip remover, detach the 8 clips and remove the plate.

41. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Remove the back door weatherstrip.

42. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips.





(b) Detach the 6 claws and remove the finish plate.

43. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)





(a) Remove the bolt.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the trim cover.

45. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Removal

47. REMOVE TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Remove the tether anchor bracket together with the bolt.





48. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer floor anchor.





(1) Remove the anchor cover.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

(b) Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.





(c) Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.

(e) Disconnect the rear power point socket connector.

(f) Remove the belt hanger.

49. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer floor anchor.





(1) Remove the anchor cover.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

(b) Disconnect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer floor anchor.

(1) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.





(c) Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.





(d) Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(e) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.

(f) Disconnect the rear power point socket connector.

(g) Remove the belt hanger.

50. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer floor anchor.





(1) Remove the anchor cover.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

(b) Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.





(c) Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.

(e) Remove the belt hanger.

51. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt outer floor anchor.





(1) Remove the anchor cover.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

(b) Disconnect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer floor anchor.

(1) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

(c) Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.





(d) Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(e) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.

(f) Remove the belt hanger.

52. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 8 clips and remove the garnish.





53. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Disconnect the rear No. 2 seat belt outer shoulder anchor.





(1) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the seat belt anchor cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(2) Remove the bolt and disconnect the shoulder anchor.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 8 clips and remove the garnish.





54. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the 2 screws and net hook.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Detach the visor from the visor holder (A in the illustration).





(c) Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor.

58. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Turn the visor holder counterclockwise and pull to remove it.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

66. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the assist grip.





67. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR COVER Removal

69. REMOVE SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)

(a) Remove the sun roof opening trim moulding.

70. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the wire harness clamp.





(b) Disconnect the roof wire connector.

(c) w/o Sliding Roof:





(1) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and headlining.

(d) w/ Sliding Roof:

(1) Disconnect the connector from the drive gear.

(2) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and headlining.

71. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF HEADLINING SUPPORT

(a) Remove the No. 1 roof headlining support.

72. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOF HEADLINING SUPPORT

(a) Remove the No. 2 roof headlining support.

73. REMOVE NO. 3 ROOF HEADLINING SUPPORT
