DESCRIPTION

When the power switch is on (IG), the center airbag sensor assembly transmits front seat inner belt status signals to the combination meter assembly through CAN. If the driver side seat belt is not fastened, the combination meter assembly blinks the driver side seat belt warning light. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The seat belt warning system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTC DTC Check / Clear.

(b) Recheck for DTCs.

B -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

The driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 5 METER CIRCUIT PLATE

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

3. REPLACE NO. 5 METER CIRCUIT PLATE

(a) Replace the No. 5 meter circuit plate Disassembly.

4. CHECK DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the driver side seat belt warning light operation Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

OK:

The driver side seat belt warning light operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 METER CIRCUIT PLATE

OK -- END (NO. 5 METER CIRCUIT PLATE WAS DEFECTIVE)

5. REPLACE NO. 2 METER CIRCUIT PLATE

(a) Replace the No. 2 meter circuit plate Disassembly.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the driver side seat belt warning light operation Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

OK:

The driver side seat belt warning light operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE Disassembly

OK -- END (NO. 2 METER CIRCUIT PLATE WAS DEFECTIVE)
