Removal





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Service and Repair

3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD Removal

6. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH Removal

8. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

9. REMOVE INVERTER COVER Removal

10. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Removal

11. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE Removal

12. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP Installation

13. INSTALL INVERTER COVER Installation

14. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

16. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine) Coolant (for Engine)

17. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to remove the No. 2 radiator hose.





18. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor with motor assembly.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

19. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose from the compressor with motor assembly.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

20. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Release the green-colored lock and disconnect connector A as shown in the illustration.





CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves when performing the following steps.

NOTICE:
Insulate the connector by sealing it with tape.

(b) Disconnect connector B.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.





(d) Using an E8 "TORX" socket, remove the stud bolt and compressor with motor assembly.





HINT
Remove the compressor with motor assembly from the vehicle with the stud bolt remaining in the compressor with motor assembly.
