Removal





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
Make sure to select DEF mode before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Service and Repair

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

Removal

4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Removal

5. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and slide the hook connector.





(b) Disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

6. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

7. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE A

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose A.





NOTICE:
* Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose A.
* Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

8. DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE A

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose A.





NOTICE:
* Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose A.
* Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

10. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Removal

14. SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE STEERING POST ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Removal

18. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN Removal

19. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER Removal

21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

22. REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH Removal

23. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:

(1) Disengage the clamp.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts and center instrument panel reinforcement sub-assembly.

24. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip and turn back the floor carpet.





(b) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and No. 1 instrument panel mounting bracket.





25. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage each clamp.





(b) Remove the screw, nut and No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.





26. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip and turn back the floor carpet.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 2 instrument panel mounting bracket.





27. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

(b) Remove the screw.

(c) Disengage the clamp.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.





(e) Disengage the 3 clamps.

(f) Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

(g) Disengage the 3 clamps.

(h) Remove the screw, nut and No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.





28. REMOVE LOWER DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 clamps.





(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.





(c) Disengage the 2 claws and guide, and remove the lower defroster nozzle assembly.





29. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

(a) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the rear No. 1 air duct.





30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt.





(b) Disengage the 3 clamps.

(c) Disengage the 2 clamps.





(d) Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

(e) Remove the 2 bolts.

(f) Disengage the 3 clamps.

(g) Disconnect the center airbag sensor connector from the center airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

(h) Disengage the clamp.

(i) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(j) Remove the 9 bolts and instrument panel reinforcement assembly.





31. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
* Be sure to support the air conditioning unit assembly when removing it because failure to do so may cause brackets of the air conditioning unit assembly to break.
* When disassembling the air conditioning unit, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.

(a) Disengage the No. 1 cooler unit drain hose.





(b) Remove the bolt, nut and air conditioning unit assembly.
