Timing Belt: Tools and Equipment

RECOMMENDED TOOLS

Counterhold Tool #5284:

- Vibration Damper removal tool 5284 (used to hold the vibration damper while removing the crankshaft bolt).

Assembling Belt Tensioner:

- Large bench vice (for compressing timing belt tensioner/dampener).
- 3 mm locking pin (for locking the tensioner in place prior to installation). A 3 mm drill bit or dowel will be sufficient.

Gauge 998 8500:

- Timing light (for measuring timing before and after).
- Vacuum gauge (for measuring engine vacuum levels before and after).
- Torque Wrenches:
- Low Range (0-50 ft-lb).
- Full set of Metric sockets and wrenches.



- Fender covers.
