Lighting the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)

A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be stored if the control module for EMS2000 detects a fault. If the fault remains for a certain number of operating cycles, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will also light.
The table below indicates whether the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) lights the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and the minimum number of operating cycles required to light it.
1= Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is only detected in model year 00 cars
2= Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is only detected in model year 01- cars
