Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures under Air Bags before performing repairs or service.
1. Remove the front console.
2. Disconnect the A/T gear position switch connector (12P) and the neutral position switch connector (2P).
3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table above.
4. Move the shift lever back and forth without pushing the push button at each switch position, and check for continuity within the range of free play.
If there is no continuity within the range of free play, adjust the position of the switch as described under Adjustments.
