Cylinder Block Assembly: Testing and Inspection









Cylinder Block Inspection

1. Measure wear and taper in directions X and Y at three levels in each cylinder as shown.
- Cylinder Bore Size:
- Standard (New): 86.000-86.015 mm (3.3858-3.3864 inch)
- Service Limit: 86.065 mm (3.3884 inch)
- Oversize
- 0.25: 86.250-86.265 mm (3.3957-3.3963 inch)
- 0.50: 86.500-86.515 mm (3.4055-3.4061 inch)
- Bore Taper
Limit (Difference between first and third measurement): 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)

NOTE:
- If the measurements in any cylinder are beyond the oversize bore service limit, replace the cylinder block.
- If the block is to be rebored, check piston to bore clearance after reboring.
- Scored or scratched cylinder bores must be honed.

- Reboring Limit: 0.5 mm (0.02 inch)








2. Check the top of the cylinder block for warpage.
Measure along the edges and across the center as shown.
