Assembly






1. Valve guide [9]
- Apply engine oil to the outside of the valve guide.
- Using special tool, drive in a new valve guide from the camshaft side.
- Use the following tools:
- Valve guide replacer: J-37985
- Valve guide replacer adapter: J-39204
- Or equivalents





2. Oil controller and spring lower seat. Using special tool, drive in a new oil controller. [8]
- Use the oil controller replacer: J-38537
3. Valve [7]
- Apply engine oil to the outside of the valve stem.





4. Valve spring [6]
- Attach the valve seat to the upper spring seat. The painted area of the valve spring should be facing downward.





5. Split collar and upper spring seat. [5]
- Use a spring compressor to push the valve spring into position.
- Install the spring seat split collar.
- Set the split collar by tapping lightly around the head of the collar with a rubber hammer.
- Use the valve spring compressor: J-39251, or equivalent.
6. Rocker shaft assembly (Intake side) [4]
