Navigation does not call using the HFL

Diagnostic Test: Navi System Link

NOTE: The point of interest (POI) being dialed must have a phone number listed with it.

1. Make sure the cell phone is paired to the HFL and working properly.

Is the cell phone paired?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Pair the cell phone to the HFL and retry.

2. Go into the Diagnostic Mode and use the "Navi System Link" diagnostic.

Is the "HFL" icon red or flickering?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Go to step 6.

3. Disconnect navigation unit connector G (5P) and the HFL control unit connector (22P).




4. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector G (5P) terminals and HandsFreeLink control unit connector (22P) terminals according to the table.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Replace the shielded harness.




5. Check for continuity between the navigation unit connector G (5P) terminals and body ground according to the table.

Is there continuity?

YES - Replace the shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 6.

6. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit and retest.

Is the system OK?

YES - Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit.

NO - Replace the navigation unit.
