Output Test

Use SUN VAT-40 or SUN VAT-60 or their equivalents for test.
1. Connect black clamp from VAT to battery ground cable, then red clamp from VAT to battery positive cable.
2. Connect green clamp from VAT (inductive pickup) to alternator D +; either at alternator or battery.
3. Start engine, raise speed and hold at 2000 RPM.
4. Slowly adjust load control of VAT until highest possible reading is obtained. Reading must be within 10 % of manufacturers specifications. Test must be performed and completed within 15 seconds to avoid overloading and damaging electrical system.
