Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

WARNING: FIRE HAZARD! Disconnect battery ground strap when working on the fuel system. Do not smoke or create any sparks where odor of fuel vapor is present.

RELIEVE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
- Loosen fuel supply line fitting at left rear of engine compartment to relieve any remaining pressure, using a rag to catch any escaping fuel, then re-tighten.

REMOVE FUEL INJECTORS

Fuel Rail:

- Remove intake air hose between mass air flow sensor and noise damper.
- Disconnect and position ignition cables to one side to allow removal of fuel rail.
- Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors.
- Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
- Remove fuel rail bolts and pull rail with injectors upward.
- Remove injector retaining clips and injector from fuel rail.
- Install in reverse order.

NOTE: Use new O-ring gaskets and lubricate them lightly fuel prior to installation.
