Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments

1. Remove center console, steering wheel, and instrument cluster.
2. Place selector lever in "N" position.
3. Remove locking cable from selector lever housing.
4. Remove cap from ignition switch, then the spring clip from locking cable.
5. Loosen locking cable adjustment bolt.
6. Place ignition switch in ON position, turn locking cable down approximately 90°.
7. Place a 0.059 inch feeler gauge between locking flap and locking pin.
8. Adjust locking cable so that locking pin is pushed against feeler gauge, then tighten adjustment nut.
9. After operating several times, clearance between locking pin and locking flap must be 0.047-0.067 inch.
10. Move selector lever to "N" position, then install locking cable to selector lever housing. Cable must be free of kinks.
11. Install instrument cluster, steering wheel and center console.
12. Ensure proper operation of locking cable
