Clutch: Service and Repair

1. Remove transmission assembly as outlined under Transmission and Drivetrain.
2. Loosen pressure plate bolts diagonally in stages, then remove pressure plate and clutch disc.
3. Inspect clutch release bearing and replace if worn or noisy.
4. Install clutch disc with centering tool No. 3176, or equivalent.
5. Lock flywheel into position using flywheel locking tool 10-201, or equivalent.
6. Install pressure plate on locating pins, then tighten bolts diagonally and in stages to specifications.
7. Remove centering and flywheel locking tools, then install transmission assembly as outlined under Transmission and Drivetrain.
