Engine Oil: Testing and Inspection
Engine oil level, checking
Test requirements:
^ Engine oil temperature at least 60°C
^ Vehicle must be level (horizontal)
^ Wait a few minutes after switching off engine to allow oil to flow back into oil pan.
^ Pull out dipstick, wipe with a clean cloth and insert again to stop.
^ Pull out dipstick again and read oil level.
Markings on oil dipstick:
a - Oil must not be topped up.
b - Oil may be topped up. The oil level may rise as far as area -a- after topping up.
c - Oil must be topped up. The oil level is sufficient if somewhere in area -b- (grooved area) after topping up.
Note: The oil level must not be above marking -a- on the dipstick.
