Data Link Connector (DLC)





Location: The data link connector for the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 505x) is located in the driver footwell.

Mechatronic unit, Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217), Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125), Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182) and Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor (G195)





Location: The Mechatronic unit is bolted to the underside of the transmission housing and is covered by the transmission oil pan.

The Mechatronic unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit. Included are:

• Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217)

• Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch (F125)

• Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182)

• Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor (G195)

The "Mechatronic" unit can only be replaced as a complete unit.

• All components mentioned are tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Internal transmission wiring harness





Location: The wiring harness - A - with connector - C - is attached to the Mechatronic unit - B -.

- Removing and installing wiring harness => [ Wiring Harness in Transmission ] Service and Repair.

Selector Lever Position Display (Y6)





Location: Integrated into instrument cluster

• The Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6) can only be replaced together with instrument cluster.

Kick Down Switch (F8)





Location: Kick Down Switch (F8) is located on vehicle floor.

• Kick Down Switch (F8) is tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Tiptronic Switch (F189)





Location: Tiptronic Switch (F189) is integrated into circuit board of symbol insert, which is located in shift mechanism cover.

• The Tiptronic Switch (F189) is checked with On Board Diagnostic (OBD).
