Rear Axle ABS Component Overview
1 - Rear brake caliper
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Caliper Assembly Overview, C38 ] Brake Caliper Assembly Overview, C38.
2 - Wheel hub
• Removing and installing, refer to => Suspension Suspension
3 - Collar bolt
Vehicle must be resting on the ground when tightening.
• Always replace.
• For tightening specification, refer to => Suspension Suspension
4 - Brake rotor
• Always replace both sides.
• Remove the brake caliper prior to removing.
• Thickness, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] Rear Brake Specifications.
• Allocation, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] Rear Brake Specifications.
5 - Wheel bolt
Vehicle must be resting on the ground when tightening
• Installing the wheels, refer to => Steering and Suspension Steering and Suspension
6 - Wheel bearing
• Removing and installing, refer to => Suspension Suspension
7 - Wheel bearing housing
• Removing and installing, refer to => Suspension Suspension
8 - Wheels speed sensor
• Left and right sensors are identical.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Wheel Speed Sensor ] Rear Wheel Speed Sensor.
• Before inserting into the wheel bearing housing, lubricate the circumference with lubricating paste (G 000 650)
• Press into the wheel bearing housing onto the stop.
• Release speed sensor connector and disconnect. Unclip speed sensor wiring.
9 - Hex head bolt
• Tightening specification: 10 Nm.
10 - Drive axle
• Check the rotor for contamination and damage.
• If the rotor is damaged, replace the outer Constant Velocity (CV) joint.
• The outer CV joint is delivered as a replacement part with rotor
11 - Ribbed bolt, 75 Nm
• Always replace.
