Distributor Cap: Service and Repair


REPLACING/CHECKING DISTRIBUTOR CAP

Caution: Always turn off ignition before working on dangerous high power ignition systems!





- Unscrew fan - left-hand threads!





- Unscrew fan cowl end lift out together with unscrewed fan.





- Take off retainers.
- Pull off cover.





- Unscrew screws for distributor cap.





- Pull off ignition lead plugs.

Installation Note:
- Make sure plugs fit tight on ignition leads and in distributor cap.
- Check tiring order.

Checking:





- It the distributor cap only has to be removed and not replaced check points end slip ring carbon brushes.
- Inspect inside for hairline cracks.





- Takeoff protective caps (1 and 2).

Installation Note:
- Check seal (6).
