The BMW On-Board Computer IIComponents
Unlike the first On-Board Computer, this one has no separate control unit. All major components, with the exception of the external inputs, are combined in a single module incorporating the digital display and keyboard.
- Inputs for road speed, fuel level, and reserve fuel level are taken from the instrumental panel.
- Inputs relative to fuel consumption are taken from the L-Jetronic fuel injection control unit.
- Ambient temperatures are measured by an external temperature sensor located under the left front bumper.
Other inputs to the computer are manually accomplished through the buttons on the panel.
