Knock Sensor: Locations
Knock sensor(s) (M43 from 9/95, M43TU, M44) Location: For cylinder group 1-2, knock sensor (1) must be seen between oil filter and intake system.
Note: The knock sensor (1) on cylinder bank 1-2 is screw-mounted to water pipe on engine block.
Release screw at knock sensor (2) of cylinder group 3-4, remove knock sensor.
